I am a bit sad that Krafzik, Roleder and Kwayie just missed the standard. I think Kwayie can still get it with a bit more tailwind, but i don't see Krafzik ever going faster than this.

So far Germany has been pretty unlucky with those standards:

- Müller missed it by 0.18 seconds in men's 200 m

- Reuther missed it by 0.02 seconds in men's 800 m

- Ringer missed it by 0.93 seconds in men's 5000 m

- Traber missed it by 0.05 seconds in men's 110 m hurdles

- Wrobel missed it by 14 cm in men's discus throw

- Dutkiewicz missed it by 0.07 seconds in women's 100 m hurdles

- Onnen missed it by 2 cm in women's high jump

- Gambetta missed it by 10 cm in women's shot put

- Fuchs missed it by 32 cm in women's javelin throw

Of course there are also cases where Germany got lucky, but i would say overall it was a rather unlucky qualification period for Germany so far, esepcially because i am not sure if Müller, Reuther, Ringer, Onnen or Fuchs will ever get that close to the standard again.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

I think that with maybe the exception of Steven Müller, they all have a good chance. Especially Fuchs: She's still a junior, and barring injuries, I don't see a reason why she shouldn't get even better. And there's still the World Ranking, where many of them have collected valuable points. Dutkiewicz is in some trouble here, though, because of her injury. She might very well need the standard next year, because she'll miss the chance for many ranking points.

Roleder was very happy after her run and said, that because of the late World Championships, she planned her season differently and is on the right track towards Doha. If this is true and not just some words, she should get the Standard.

    • Bologna is unfortunately is a team for the Conference League, not the Champions League   Juventus are plagued by injuries and are struggling. On top of that they have a terrible schedule in the CL. In their case qualifying for the play-offs would be a success in this season but I'm not sure how many points they will need to do that. Actually they chave 8 points.
