I don’t know a single Jewish person that’s ever voted Republican. Every person of Jewish decent or faith I’ve known has been pretty damn liberal (the same goes for all younger American Muslims). I believe the statistics on the American Jewish vote (which is a good sized minority) is about 80-90% Democrat and 10-20% Republican. Obviously that can change from election to election, but most of the Jewish people I’ve known are generally actually well left in the political spectrum. There are different sects in the Jewish faith, and most American Jews belong to the more liberal ones. Also, assuming Jews automatically have money and power is some pretty old type viewpoints.

Anti-Semiticism is still rather popular amongst the US right. Nazism was much more popular than it should have been in the 1930s and that’s one of the reasons why. During the “Red Scare”, Republicans like McCarthy (asshole) targeted prominent Jews in the US. They reused a lot of Nazi taking points wether they realized it or not. I think that caused the Jewish minority to shift well left in the US. Plus, unlike most Christians (at least in the US), Jews aren’t as hypocritical in their views. Most of them are vehemently against Trump, and quite a few view him as an anti-Semite.

I reckon most US Jews are secular to begin with but it's one thing that works massively in Trump's favor as his daughter married a Jewish businessman and he's more pro-Israel than a lot of these liberal Dems voters and liberal Jewish people to begin with. So Dems can't use the most obvious weapon to swing the elections. If they could somehow make Trump look like anti-Semite then he would be cooked but you simply can't because he's pushing the pile in Israel's favor like no other POTUS before him, setting up a US Embassy in Jerusalem, now talking about the legal settlements on the West Bank when the entire world thinks of them as illegal. Hell, Obama wasn't this liberal and pro-Jewish amid all his political craze. The liberal people are suddenly forced to promote "liberal Muslims" as the next great thing in politics? Like really? This idea will never overcome the decades of Jewish influence and the country's pro-Israel politics. If Obama set up the Embassy in Jerusalem he'd be praised as the progressive mind for the ages but now that Trump has done it, he's anti-semitic? Who buys this kind of nonsense? :dunno:

PS. Back in the 50s the communist party were filled with Jewish people. It happened in Poland too. McCarthy is dismissed as lunatic now but you just have no idea what he saved you from - albeit short-term since the Vietnam War would have changed the political landscape anyway. Or if JFK lived long enough to win the second term you'd have never set a foot in Vietnam in first place (based on the Bay of Pigs disaster). That's for another debate though.

1. Volker is more or less breaking down the Republican talking points one by one

2. He is a witness called by....the Republicans! They either lie about or don't even know that this is their own witness

And...there’s a good chance that open carry may soon be legal in each ?

My political science professor is an international conspiracy theorist. Thinks Iran will start WW3 soon, Hayes Argentina (seems to think it’s poorer than Mexico and as poor as Guatemala), thinks America is the greatest country in the world, China is responsible for all bad things that happen to the US, etc.

Or he might just be an American conservative :p. My area is known for being home to left and right crazies (like an insane amount, in fact our gang war is between a far-right white nationalist group and a liberal group :p).

I just wanted a basic education sir, I didn’t need your shit. I now he’s going on a rant about socialism. His about to catch a right hook if he keeps this shit up.

Don't ya all do? :d

That’d be a hard no from me. Honestly, I’d say the UK is and has been for a long time.

Everyone I 'know' from that area fits in one of these two categories indeed

Yep, UK is easily the most calm and politically stable country in the world without any problems on the street or whatsoever, specifically in the past few years.

    • Disappointing end of the race, wanted to see history this year
    • A lot of sports have been ruined with rule changes, modern pentathlon has actually better with these rules I think. I would never watch something span over 2 days. Short and quick finals is what most audience want.   Obviously can be optimised further, but this is definitely an excellent job and that's how a sport should be.
    • World Cup 1     Cairo, April 7-12       Women: Gold: Blanka Guzi - 1,488 pts (New World Record) Silver: Anastasiya Malashenoka  Bronze: Viyaleta Hureyeva    Men: Gold: Moutaz Mohamed  - 1,608 pts (New World Record) Silver: Mathis Rochat  Bronze: Mihaly Koleszar
    • Felt the athletes didn't give it their all in swimming, it was slow
    • China was not at the Olympics. You played Japan.   Taking any conculsions after 1 match is too early and premature. Norway is definitely by any mean not a punching bag, They are a team relegated from the Top division. Nobody is going to blown them. In the opposite China yes, they were piss poor today, totally harmless, this is not China from the pre and Beijing era, any naturalized player is not in the team anymore, only local girls who had issues even with normal skating and puck control, Was quite embarassing to watch this, but kudos to China they decided to go this harder way and reform their team with local players.   Italy is still the number one favorite for promotion, 3 points against Norway are the first and very important step. Your main games will still be Hungary and France as scripted.
    • Italy today beat Norway only 2-1 (and also was a draw in the all shots stats: 28- 26). It doesn't look good for us– our form has probably arrived in February, not now. In my opinion, Slovakia will be the favorite tomorrow – they won 7-0 against China today – and they'll probably were a peak of the form. Personally, I wasn't expecting Italy to advance and I think I was right – it's good that the minimum goal – no relegation – is almost certain. Certainly, today wasn't the same form as in February at the Olympics in the matches against France and China.
    • looking at the video and knowing Australia, I think the wind reading was wrong, it was surely a lot more windy than +1.7, but we all know that sometimes these things happen (you're so young, I don't know what you know about the 1988 Olympic Trials in Indianapolis and Florence Griffith Joyner records -still standing )
    • I call bullshit on the performances from this race    20.01 to 19.67 would be one thing, we all know how good Gout Gout has been hyped up to be, even though it feels like ridiculously impossible with how steep of an improvement it is… but almost everyone from the race has had ridiculous PB’s, I mean Murphy who’s a 20.41 guy at best is now 19.88. McHugh broke 21 seconds for the first time a month ago, and now he’s going 20.23.   Either an extremely fast track, wrong timing, favourable headwind, not sure what it is.
    • This also kind of showed, like last year, the biggest flaw of Pogacar: technique and bike control. The way he was wrestling himself through curve after curve where natural talents like Van Aert and Van der Poel (cyclocross greats, no coincidence) were flying through.
