Sweden, average of Sifo and SVT exit polls:

S-S&D: 25.8%

M-EPP: 18.1%

SD-ECR: 17.8%

V-LEFT: 9.4%

C-ALDE: 9.2%

KD-EPP: 7.0%

L-ALDE: 5.6%

MP-G/EFA: 5.0%

Is not a surprise for me like that country is now.

Yeah Russia has been making these accusations for two weeks now (well, first 'they're planning a fake attack!' for some time and now this).

Anybody else annoyed by people in the European Parliament speaking in their own languages? Now on the news I saw that Orban guy speaking Hungarian, some German speaking German...how can one make it to a major political position without something as basic as knowledge of a widespread language, which logically would be English? It makes them look so uneducated

At least in the case of prime ministers/presidents it's common protocol that they should speak their own language even in big international meetings (only in interviews they tend to adapt to the language of the interviewer). It's not that they necessarilly don't know english or other lenguage. For example, Putin knows many languages but rarely speaks in something that isn't russian.

Well. It's tradition and a rather major thing for the parliament (or at least some of the members). English could even (theoretically) be on the way out as it's nominated as official language by Gbr.

I remember when one of our national populist members of the parliament complained about our prime minister decided to speak English.

Personally I don't really care. The interpreters are great meaning that it's not really a problem.
