Are they also talking about turning the boat back around, and doing so with all other boats, to maybe discourage people from trying this dangerous journey and maybe have less smuglers get rich by abusing these people?

17 migrants are disembarked by the Diciotti ship, 133 are still missing. 17 people are now free! Here a pic  from Catania founding on the web, were some people starts to go on the port... not all italian are stupid, luckily :)

Well, whatever one's opinion, I think 'free' might be a bit of an overstatement here...no? I don't think it's like "here's your Italian passport, go explore the country and find yourself a job"? :p

Well, better that stay in the ship and sleep on the floor without being able to receive medical treatment for a whim of a madman. They 17 guys were transported to the hospital...

True. The problematic side though is that now yet again people have 17 more reasons to try this often deadly journey, and criminals/smugglers can make more millions (and get more powerful) by taking all of their money and stuff...

Of course, but they are on an italian military ship now... And on the ship we have 42 italian military that can't disembarked. Actually we don't speak about smugglers but we speak about the refugees stuck in the sea for days.

Which is a bit of a problem, because they are sort of the 'keys' in all of this.
