The states regulation of everything continues, the fiscal deficit is still very big, without the taxes for the minery and the exportation of agricultural products, there arent any cut taxes, in fact we still having one of the biggest tax presure in the world, the union workers have in your country  more power than in the mostpart of the world, i dont remember that like a liberalism rule, its a necesity in our country.

I said: "those are the laws that are coming". I know they haven't done much of that yet.

Philippine media keeps on trying to bring down our good president. They are definitely receiving fat paychecks from the opposition.

What they say about him?

"He is not 100% perfect", sounds like enough reason for his fans to get angry :p

So, this is a sad day for me. Today seems to be the last day of my country as I have know it all my life.

The parlament of Catalonia will declare today the independence of the so called Republic of Catalonya. Seems like the parliment is going to vote about it today, and they had absolute mayority. They have some broken strings in their parties and maybe a few wild votes from the independence team, but they have a mayority of four, so I don't think they would miss so many votes. Also, seems like two parlamentaries from an spanish sided party may go wild and vote a yes.

It's really sad all it's happening.

The don't have the peoples votes, neither an international recognition and their economy is going down as more and more business are leaving the cities and the tourism is going down in Barcelona.

I thought the outcome of the referendum was a majority for Yes?

In a fact it was, YES won.

But actually if you look more deep, it wasn't. Not even half of the census of Catalonia voted, and the referendum was a big mess. People voted like three times. And when the police close some of the schools were the votes were planned, they took the booths out so people could vote. They are videos of it in youtube were you see multiple people in a crowd voting without any checks. Then, the results are totally hideous. There are cities with more votes for the yes than people living there....

    • Some notable  retirements:   Elisavet Pesiridou (athletics - 100m hurdles) - She announced her retirement on her 34th birthday. She competed in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. She narrowly missed Paris 2024 despite being in good form, the rest of he field seemed to get stronger and her ranking was a bit lower even though she was quite consistent. She struggled with injuries in 2025.   Fani Tzeli (taekwondo) - She was 7th in Tokyo 2020 but didn't qualify for Paris 2024. Still, she is only 24 yo and seemed to be rising up again after winning bronze at the European Championships so it is a bit surprising.   Aikaterini Divari (sailing) - She competed in Tokyo 2020 but didn't qualify for Paris 2024. Only 25 yo.   AJ Ginnis (alpine skiing) - Despite winning a silver at the World Championships he never got to compete at the Winter Olympics as he was always unfortunately injured. A shame as he is by far our best winter athlete ever. Only 31 yo, and I have a feeling he might come back in 2030 based on his last interview...

    • Well.  Having gotten it a bit at a distance a few comments about my experiences   Travel: Very happy. Flying to and from was a breeze (the plane home slighty delayed). The same can be said about getting around in Milano. Getting around outside was of course slightly harder, especially with some delays back from Antholx (but i guess that's not a big surprise when a lot of people leave a place in the mountains)   Atmosphere: Very happy around the venues, but it's also very clear that it's smaller than the Summer games. People weren't following the events wherever you went. Alcohol certainly made a difference between Paris and now. Sadly did experience a few who should certainly have stopped a couple of beers earlier.    The logistics at the venues:  Very easy to see that Santagiulia is new and absolutely not a perfect venue. Seems like some kinks were fixed when I got there, but there's still stuff to work out. The food at the Milano venues were meh and there were quite some lines. Tesero was a chaos when it came to getting food, but the quality was slightly better at the skiing venues.
