So much for "everybody's laughing at us if we elect Harris" :p

Harris is totally green on foreign policy. It will probably be a policy 100% led by Biden's people. Harris' main campaign emphasis is on abortion and women's rights.

I once read that Harris had never been to Europe before 2020, when she became vice president. On the other hand, her foreign policy will be more predictable, because it will be a continuation of Biden's policies. That is why I hope Harris wins, although the bookmakers are betting on Trump.

More predictable is not always better, for me the goverment of Biden was one of the worst of the History of USA and i cant imagine what can happen with even a worse version like Harris is.

I hope, for the contrary, Trump be elected and "may be" the things changes for the better in the world.

It could be better, or it could be much worse, for example, if the accusations that he has been accepting large amounts of money from Russia since 2017 are confirmed. Now let Harris win, which will end Trump's political career and I hope that in 4 years the Republicans will put up someone more predictable.

btw, how is this controversial president of Argentina doing?

The relation of Trump with Russia and, more specific, with Putin is probably the most controversial (being generous) thing of the presidence of Trump, i dont believe the same but is clearly that China help democrats in that election, both are playing their games.

In Argentina the society is clearly divided, the people who are in the left side of the politics, peronist and kirchnerism are very against the goverment, propably the only genuine "rigth-wing" goverment since the recovery of the democracy in 1983.

For me and the most part who are in the rigth wing: libertarians, nacionalist and conservatives, is probably the best goverment we see to this days, he made in his first year with a very few legislators in the congress some big and good changes:

1) In the economical: the inflation is only 3% per month since a more of 15% in the last months of the last year, Argentina has now fiscal, financial and comercial surplus-

2) Our country didnt have fighter planes and the goverment buy 24  American F16  -

3) He changes the electoral sistem for a "single ballot" sistem, we have an obsolete electoral sistem that doesnt change from the 19 century and specially, the peronist use for make fraud.

4) In my personal case, he really update the tax sistem for small/medium profesionals and traders.......and that save us to pay the 50% of our earnings to the state.

With a big expectations in the goverment, its better than i thinked before.

It's good that Argentina is starting to get back on track economically. Every year, all of our alpine skiing teams train in August in Argentina in Ushuaia: "Fine del Mundo", as it advertises itself.

Yeah, Harris might not be great, it is still definitely better than having an outright psychopath as president, again. At the very least it should be someone who is at least capable and willing to, you know, communicate like an adult. Trump very clearly can not do that, although one would assume his childish yelling and overall immensely bizarre way of speaking (from his intonation to his 'we did great, everyone thought it was great, they couldnt believe how great I was!') must appeal to a certain kind of person, I suppose.

Huh, there's still countries buying F-16's? :d

Coincidentally we said goodbye to our last ones a little over a month ago (Belgian ones are still sometimes flying here though).

    • It seems to me that the entire province in Iran is religious, and hence the legitimacy of this regime, but even Tehran itself (in theory, the most educated and progressive people) is not inclined to turn out 1-2 million to overthrow the current regime. The Shah never had this legitimacy. The same is true in Afghanistan, where the Taliban has real and big public support, even though it's relegating these people to the Middle Ages. It's a strange world
    • that happened to so many people. Khomeini at the time of revolution had probably something like 90% support. maybe even more (which I still can't understand how and why)   he was supposed to be someone like Pope, stay in the holy city of Qom and do not interfere with the government.  of course that didn't happen and some people slowly started to realize the catastrophe. but make no mistake Khomeini was still extremely popular until his death.   there is a famous thing about Khomeini, when he landed in Iran with Air France 10 days before the revolution, lots of high profile people (exiled by Shah's regime) accompanied him inside the plane. none of them are with the regime anymore. they are either killed by MEK terrorists, killed or jailed by Khomeini himself or fled the country later.
    • Hungary is simply much better than Italy (it is clear that Orban has been investing much in sports, because they are strong despite their small population) – we haven't beaten them in 20 years or more. A window of opportunity arose when Hungary unexpectedly lost to Slovakia, and we could have advanced, but we didn't capitalize on it. Because of the loss to Slovakia, Hungary won't finish first. However, Italy certainly didn't deserve to advance, since they lost to both Hungary and Slovakia. Our form was simply poor and our best player- Fantin, was out with injured. However, that doesn't change the fact that with seven or eight Canadian players of Fortino caliber, we should have played much better here.
    • Fantin's injury didn't help, but the fact that the Canadian head coach didn't even show up at the tournament shows certain priorities – only the Olympics were important, and the project will soon be over. I`, sure that half of our Canadian players won't be playing for the Italian national team in a next year. France will qualify, because I don't believe they won't beat Slovakia tomorrow. Congratulations to France for having a long-term vision for this sport, not just for a single home event.
    • 2-3 against Hungary. Big disappointment. Unfortunately, it seems our good form was only to the Olympics and no at the World Championships were crucial for us. We had a big chance against France, because I expected a loss against Hungary. It's also fair to say that Hungary and France, relying primarily on their own athletes and have been better than Italy for many years and even bringing in 7-8 North American athletes didn't help us. Unfortunately, despite advancing to the top 8 for the Olympics, the Italian project will last even shorter than China, as they at least advanced to the elite group. In a year, I suspect we'll be fighting relegation against the Netherlands. In reality, that 8th place at the Olympics means nothing anymore, and in a 1 month, no one will remember it. Even the young girls from Slovakia played better here than us, where there isn't even a single Canadian player. If we finish in 4th place, it will be only 2 positions better than in 2019 - when we had a very weak team.
