Because they make it sound like it is an American crisis. It is a worldwide crisis, they make it sound like "sure the world is having a tough time, but for us it's even harder!"

 

They are like those people to whom you say something and they answer by taking your situation, turning it to theirs and increase how bad it is so they can still get enough attention.

- "Oh that sucks, only a month ago I had a friend die and my grandma and sister too."

No, that’s not what the article is arguing. It’s saying that domestic issues have contributed to the self-identity of Gen Z.

Right, but we’ve only grown up in hard times: 9/11, Iraqi and Afghan Wars (both of which many of parents), Great Recession, School Shootings, Trump, impacts of climate change, and now this Pandemic. I’m sorry generation that your generation just excepted that the world was shit and always be, and there’s nothing we can do to change that; but my generation disagrees. Most of these issues are/were preventable, but your generation failed in the mantle of leadership. As Chernobyl ends “the truth is resolute. And most of them think that they've grown up in hard times, and when the others say they had hard times too, every generation counts with "no but for us it was real!".
