We know it’s awarded fairly because he hasn’t won it yet. Also, no US President should ever win the award unless they actually do something. People like Greta, Nelson Mandela, MLK, Cesar Chavez, Botswana’s first President, Ghandi, Dalai Lama, etc. are the people who actually deserve the award.

One can give Greta Thunberg all kinds of things, but a Nobel Peace Prize is just not one of them. Maybe in a long time from now, but she is fighting for the climate. Not for peace.

Yes, but one could argue that the climate issue has become a peace issue too.

As long as people are still actually fighting wars for all kinds of other reasons, I wouldn't have Thunberg anywhere near the nominations.

The Peace prize has been awarded to people involved in very different causes, not just to those that literally ended a war or something, so...

In fact, they already gave one to Al Gore and co. for the pretty much the same.

Well Climate Change is quickly becoming a Human Rights issue so you never know...

In my opinion I haven’t seen a strong nominee yet this year. That’s why Greta’s in the lead in my opinion.

I'd be much more in favour of a different system anyway: only give the prize when there's good reason to do so, instead of 'having' to give it every year.

Then again, actual peace is more important than a peace prize I suppose.

A tough day in office for Indonesian president:

1. A riot in West Papua, due to a hoax message regarding racial slurs to native Papuans (duh!)

2. Forest and peatland fires, exporting haze to Singapore and Malaysia

3. Student demonstrations in big cities, to protest a new bill (which allegedly limit the power of Anti Corruption Commission) and the proposal of the revision of the revised criminal code bill (yeah the crazy stuff I posted a while ago)
