There's no longer a choice. Trump has admitted to trying to rig the election through foreign interference. There is no use trying to remove him in the 2020 election when you know he's not going to play by the rules.

Meanwhile in the U.S.A, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi looks set to officially announce the beginning of the Impeachment Inquiry of Donald Trump :hyper:https://www.wsj.com/articles/democrats-face-critical-day-on-pursuing-impeachment-11569336620

Anyone from the United States explain if it's as serious as it seems?

edit: nvm, I just saw there's already a discussion about that

Very fair. It’s also super beneficial to keep him in office because he’s a beatable election opponent. Plus, if he’s relected it creates more opportunities for socialists like myself to gain more power in this country.

In the end, I’d probably agree with most people that for the greater good of the country it’s better to see him go.

Maybe serious, maybe not. Pelosi’s been super hesitant about it, so the confidence might not be there. It will be a very fun national shitshow either way, so grab so popcorn and see who wins the race to reverse 2016 first, the US or the UK.

The irony is that the unhinged socialist congresspeople currently in office could hurt this whole impeachment process. I hope that Pelosi has a handle on her caucus and continues to proceed with this in a practical manner.

Also, the damage Trump would cause with another four years in office would be irreparable - this far outweighs the perceived benefits of your speculation that it gives socialists more power down the road. Impeachment likely won't get him out of office, and so lets hope he just loses next November - and in my opinion, lets hope we can return to a moderate form of governance, I think the extremes on either side of the spectrum will only lead to more chaos.

    • Not in modern times (believe it has happened back in the 19th century). The Social Democrats were rather close in the mid-30s, but generally it's been the Social Democrats as the largest getting challenged by either Venstre (the old, liberal party) or the Conservatives (though their latest peak was in the 80s). Keep in mind that most Danish governments have been minority governments. The latest government (well, it's still the government until the new one is formed) was the first one since the early 90s and only the 5th since the Second World War.
