Sprint Canoeing at the Summer Olympic Games 2020

Speaking of the two boats per race: at this point it's safe to say that only :HUN benefitted from this rule. I wouldn't be surprised if we got back to one boat per event for the next Games when only one country is taking full advantage of it, I assume the others aren't happy about that they are fighting two Hungarian boats while they can't qualify two boats for FA.

It's certainly not a unique case, in almost all sports there is a nation stronger than others that benefits from having the possibility of having more than one quota per event.
I mean, we are 2-2-1 here, a joke compared to certain other results. I'm looking forward to the :NED 's final medal table in cycling, for example

Is :CAN weak in women's C2? What happened in that heat? I thought that they are back to being the favorites after the drama of the last few years.

This is now a huge opportunity for :CHN to win a gold.

It's much of a surprise to me too. However Katie Vincent look injured yesterday on c1 200 final....so maybe something is holding her back

What a race from Adolf against two (gold) medal contenders! He defeats Brendel, who now has to race again in the QF. Finally some signs of Hungarian life in men's canoe. It looks like our C2 boat really only failed because Fejes.

Yeah, :NZL is very dangerous in K4, our girls can't make any mistakes in the final.

:BLR on the other hand continues to disappoint, which is good news for :POL  :GER  :DEN

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
