The course (especially the upper part) start to be faster, better light but also more sun, does not look good for the 2nd run, expecting some lottery with huge advantage for skiers starting among first in the 2nd run

Look at Bassino and Vlhova. They will have an early start number in the second run.

Petra is bad in GS this season. but Bassino may very well do something epic in the 2nd run.

+ my personal hidden bet. Maryna Gasienica-Daniel to wrote some history today

Since when 20th in second run is "early" (in Vlhova's case). Besides if the course doesn't suit Bassino like people said it doesn't matter where she starts.

I feel like there could be some real outsiders in the late 20s who can't profit from the fresh course in 2nd run.

Americans must have insane material when one of their random no-names can compete for a medal. Shiffrin not being in too shape is very good for the competition. Italy must be the most disappointed nation at this event, crazy that a nation with one good athlete (USA) can win more medals than a nation with so many world-class athletes.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

This is basically what they call the "North American ice" - a lot of firn or whatever that's called? I'm not surprised the US skiers are doing so well.

Others are having issues, our commentator basically said MF Holtmann can't ski on ice :p

Stjernesund 4,41 back. Guess Norwegian youngsters can't do shit on ice whatsoever.

Wow, Eurosport and the Eurosport Player are disappointing today....Australian Open semi on ES1, which is sad but understandable of course. However, snowboard cross live on ES2 (a regular World Cup) instead of the world championships, that's just nonsense.

"Right, at least there's the Player."

Nope, it was not live on the Player...not with and not without commentary, just a 40-minute broadcast that started 20 minutes ago or so and which will obviously only show the skiers we already see in the World Cup all the time, whereas events like this are extra cool because one can see those from 'exotic' nations. Not this time though.

    • I used to think Johnston(e) - from some place John build (aka stone for building something hehe).   I'm not familiar if Scottish or Irish clans are named after such clan founder or a place?
    • i'm triggered,legitimately thought kennedy 2.0 happened,just way more out of nowhere
    • Perfectly obvious.    Johnson = son of John Johnston or Johnstone = From St John's Town ie Perth in Scotland.
    • Nope. Azu missed out by 0.01. Bromell lost silver by 0.001!
