Yep, same here, but I'm dying to know exactly how they're planning on making qualifying for the non top-20/25 nations even more impossible.

Easy. No non top 20/25 nations at all. 20 quotas saved so that Germany can send 12 athletes and start with 8. :p

Who are you going to shoot? The IBU officials? The Germans? Or are you going to put The Netherlands on the Biathlon map and represent your country? :d

Or you can build a super relay around yourself and become nr.1 in the world just like Belgium. There are still some Claude brothers to choose from. Then, I would have suggested to borrow something from Germany, but sadly Florian Graf is retiring this season, buuuut you could try Christiansen or Gjesbakk, because Norway's world cup team seems to hate them. Lastly, top it all off with someone washed up or a potential youngster from Austria and Olympics, here you come.

Maybe I can convince Mesotitsch to make a comeback. And heck if Brazil can get a young Austrian to compete for them due to one of his parents being Brazilian, surely there's some Austrian with decent biathlon talent and a Dutch parent?

I remember someone put forth a suggestion to fund Lithuanian Swedish/Norwegian immigrants so that they'd take up winter sports there and become super stars. Still waiting for that plan to be set in motion

His skiing style is a little too agressive for me to trust him with a rifle :d

Mesotitsch, Graf, another Claude, Heywoodu. Sounds reasonable. Much like Lahaye-Goffart, you will start the final leg of relay with at least a minute of lead. :yes

    • I will do my best to organise a pairs competition also involving nations from the 4 teams that are eliminated in the first half of the team competition along with the lowest ranked individual nations at the halfway point (end of session 2) to form 8 pairs. Pairs will be balanced so that the highest ranked nation in the competition will be paired with the lowest ranked nation, second highest with the second lowest and so on. All of that will be based on the individual ranking at the halfway point.   This way every nation will have at least interest in some event until the end of the 3rd session.   I will probably base it closely on @mrv86‘s proposed rules, and have sprints every 3 rounds of votes. The pairs with most medals from those 3 rounds get the points along with an extra bonus for medal and points doubles.   I do only have 1 day to organise this now so I can’t promise anything though.

    • The two-woman quota is based upon the "combined" ranking. The 6 best monobob + 6 best 2-woman results are taken into account at the moment (7 once this week's WC race has been raced).  Weiszewski competed in Europe Cup yesterday in the monobob, finishing 2nd, which gave her 110 points. This was her 7th monobob race, so this result replaced her worst (80 points), helping her leapfrog Cernanska by 8 points. At this point I guess she's in a better spot, as she's got the same room for improvement in the two-woman today, while Cernanska probably won't compete that well in the WC.
