As much as i'm happy with the american gold, i feel that this medal is tainted, i mean yea her first run was awesome and she deserves the score, however best competitors were suppose to have 5 runs, not 2, or wait in the final for 26 other people to go before your second run, or not face such bad winds

Eh, she's the best athlete. The format was bad, but ultimately it's hard to argue with her win. Every athlete was affected the same way.

oh no doubt, it's more impressive that she was able to do such a great run when everyone else failed

As now we come across the world
To share these Games of old
Let all the flags of every land
In brotherhood unfold

I take it the BBC snowboarder announcers are as crazy as they were in Sochi, then?

I remember choking on my drink 4 years ago to, "There's her parents celebrating that run!  Actually, I have no idea who those people are, they're probably not related to her.  But they're excited anyway".

    • I guess that including or excluding a sport is just a part of some bigger agenda. Political, economical and so on. Sport itself is of lesser importance. IOC wont mind a (un)popularity of a sport if they have a bigger cause to fullfil.  These are facts but on mainstream media its rarely seen.
    • Not really sure where else to put this but Matthew Richardson has switched nationalities from  to     https://www.instagram.com/p/C-2KNF5ONxw/?igsh=MTIxdTRrMTRiZTN1
    • My fear is that every sports/disciplines not on the program will see it as a way in, and we end up with the World Games + Ski&Ice
    • Summer Olympics, hell yeah I’m all for it!    Winter Olympics, absolutely not.    Cross-country running events are held in the winter, but that doesn’t make it a winter sport, sorry. There is one caveat though if it were to, let’s say get added to to the Olympic program hypothetically, because it would weaken the strength of distance fields drastically due to scheduling.    Edit: None of this is directed at you, just the idiots (like Coe) that think this (putting a summer sport in the winter Olympics, not cross country running at the Olympics) is a good idea…
    • Normally I’d agree, but we need to flush out flag football first
