Osaka wins something becoming really normal nowadays simply Serena in the making, she can even exceed what Serena has achieved :d

What a bittersweet day for Japan. On the one hand Osaka won her 4th slam, but on the other hand Watanabe got murdered ...

I think Osaka started way too late to come close to Serena, also I am not sure if she is good enough on other surfaces. Maybe one of the young american girls can also reach her level.

I have no words for this. So proud to have someone like him to represent my country!

Semifinals will be tough and I don't know if he will have the energy. Regardless we are very proud :GRE

Agreed. As a European I am really proud that he represents us!

Tsitsipas is half-Russian. It's been a while since Europe is proud of anything Russian-related :p

Not true. I think for example many Europeans are very proud of Marie Curie.

Get real, 95% of Europeans don't know who Marie Curie was :p

Let's go Medvedev, it'd be cool to see another new name instead of always the same on the Grand Slam winners list :p

Last time there were two consecutive first-time Grand Slam winners was in 2002 with Thomas Johansson and Albert Costa :d

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
    • Oh I’m not done yet, unfortunately. From the names that could be back but are still injured   Courtney Hoffos Mikael Kingsbury (should be back before the Olympics) Connor Howe (he returned, but nowhere close to his best so his injury is still giving him issues) Connor Bedard Meryeta O’Dine Megan Oldham
    • Italy also has its own list, although of course not every injury is as terribile  in terms of medal losses. In winter sports have unfortunately much more injuries than summer sports. In the summer only: cycling, volleyball and football.     - Brignone: will return in January, - Tabanelli: will return for the Olympics, - Bassino: season over, - Marta Rossetti: season over, - Lara Malsinier: season over.
    • TNT staff expect they will offer it at a price similar to what they offering the Winter Olympics for rather than the full TNT price.   But equally the main coverage is apparently going to be very different to what they do for the Olympics (Which is less pundits and studio chat than the BBC) with speculation it might be based on NBC’s Olympic coverage with tons of human interest etc.
    • India Sherret (ski cross)   Another name to the ever-growing list of injuries for the Canadian team… used to be excited for the Olympics, now not so much…
