Eventing quarantine started a couple of days ago. Tomorrow, the dressage horses are headed for Liege to fly on Tuesday.

 Claudio Castilla Ruiz & Alcaide are out just before heading to the airport. So sad, they are always an exciting combination to watch.

Mary Hanna's Calanta flew today solo from Australia.

And Calanta has reached Tokyo!

 

Now she will have the whole stables for herself for a couple of days. Not even the Japanese horses are there yet.

So this is weird. Chris Burton has been listed as withdrawn since yesterday.

It would be a great shame if confirmed, but so far I haven't been able to find any confirmation from the Australian federation, from news-sites, or even from the athletes involved themselves.

Sadly, the injury of Quality Purdey has been confirmed. Chris Burton is out, but he appeared to be quite shocked that the he did not get reselected on his reserve horse Clever Louis.

 

Stuart Tinney is in. I like Tinney, but Leporis is his second horse, and I feel all the wind has gone out of Australian sails at this point.
