His father is American and his mother is Japanese. He is a haafu (half Japanese), not a naturalized athlete.

In Mixed Team Tournament, easy gold for Japan over Brazil. Bronze for Korea and France.

I like this team event. There should be one in Taekwondo and Wrestling too... and yes, this is my honest opinion. I don't have a problem with every (mixed) team event.
