No, the lowest ranked player to win a GS title was Mark Edmondson, ranked 212th. He won Australian Open in 1976 beating Ken Rosewall (#1 seed) in the semifinal and John Newcombe (#2 seed) in the final both in four sets. Newcombe was the defending champion. Ironically, Edmondson is still the last Australian who won Australian Open.

I didn't heard this till now :woot: Thanks :d

PS: I bet on Kyrgios to win Australian Open in next years:)

Yes yes yes, Tecau and Rojer are the new champions:champion: Tecau has now 3 grand slams...Halep still without title...and Romanians love her more than Tecau:smash:

Singles > Doubles. Period. I really enjoy watching doubles, but it will never get as much publicity as singles competition gets.

Good news for Kiwi tennis - if there are no results in singles, than there are doubles :d Michael Venus is in mixed doubles final, paired with Hao-Ching Chan. Venus won French Open earlier this year partnering Ryan Harrison.

Both Angel and Michael are having an amazing year :)

You're welcome :d

When it comes to Kyrgios, I wouldn't bet on anything lol But I do believe he'll win at least on GS in career :d

Interesting for Hingis: first she'll play the mixed doubles final against one Chan sister, then she'll play the women's doubles final with the other sister :p

Hingis already played women's doubles quarterfinal against the other sister :d
