Do I understand correctly you want play Sweden ?:d

No but I'd like to see Europe win, because it would encourage hockey growth in some of the countries and also show the NHL its a dumb idea to mix countries together :p

Ah ok :d fair tough..but Canada is clearly above. This Canadian team is just amazing and if we consider the players in the north america team, Canadian depth and quality is impressive.Watching :CAN playing is a pleasure.

About this match, the start of the second period was great by team Europe, they played very well untill this a bit controversial call for Sekera, I understand the high stick rule..no problem with that but still this call was very awful for me...and this call helped Canada to return back to their play and since this moment europeans chances are again over

logical and deserved win for Canada 4-1.

We already know the first semifinal pair of the tournament.  Sweden will play against the europeans. Canada must wait for his opponent (Russia or Team North America) everything will depend on tomorrows game RUS - FIN if Russia win Canada will play Russia, if RUS lose Canada will play a semifinal against the "kids"

ok..more photos, recap and video highlights in few hours. going to sleep right now it´s 4:40 morning here :bye:

Canada clinches first

Toews guides solid 4-1 win over Team Europe

Air Canada Centre Toronto ON Canada

Jonathan Toews celebrates his first-period goal for Canada.

Sidney Crosby and Jonathan Toews showed quick hands around the net, scoring early and late in the first period to lead Canada to a 4-1 win over Team Europe.

Toews later added another goal and an assist to make a three-point night.

Jaroslav Halak was sensational in goal for Europe, stopping 42 shots. Corey Crawford at the other end faced only 20 shots.

The win gives Canada a 3-0 record and first place in Group A. It will now play either North America or Russia on Saturday night. The opponent will be decided tomorrow afternoon when Finland and Russia square off.

A Russian win will mean another chapter in the storied rivalry between the maple leaf and CCCP. A Finnish win will make for a truly unique semis between Canada and North America.

"We were a little casual with the puck," coach Mike Babcock suggested. "Their goalie was good. We're ready for the elimination round now. The best of the best delivers when it matters."

Team Europe, with two wins and a loss, has a date booked with Sweden in the other semi-finals on Sunday afternoon.

"I still think we can improve," Crosby said. "Mostly consistency. We have to be sharp, clean a few things up, but mostly it's consistency."

"We had a tough time keeping Hossa's line with Kopitar at bay. At the end of the day, we got the win," Toews noted.

Crosby made it 1-0 at 4:01 when he corralled a Jay Bouwmeester shot behind the net and wrapped it around the back side before Halak could cover the post.

Halak made three incredible saves later in the period, robbing Steven Stamkos with a glove and twice denying Brad Marchand in quick succession. Moments later, though, Halak cleared the puck around the boards unwisely, and before he could get settled in his crease Matt Duchene spotted Toews, who deflected the puck in with only 54.4 seconds left in the period.

Europe, though, came out with purpose in the second and was rewarded thanks to a clever shot by Marian Hossa from a terrible angle. Skating down the left side and seeing no options, he fired the puck at goalie Corey Crawford from the icing line. It bounced off the goalie’s pads and in at 4:38.

Canada restored its two-goal lead after Europe defenceman Roman Josi broke his stick taking a shot at the Canada blue line. Toews collected the puck and skated down on a three-on-one, but his teammates were unnecessary. He wired a wrist shot over Halak’s glove at 14:48.

Logan Couture closed out the scoring with a goal at 17:33, firing a loose puck over the glove of Halak.
