Final cut has been made after last night debacle from the Czechs.

 

Goalie Patrik Kozel, defencers Matúš Hlaváč, Šimon Groch and forwards Michael Drábek, Róbert Bačo are out and had to already leave the bubble and fly back home, not the prettiest christmas gift for them for sure...but it is how it is. Only 25 can make it to the final roster.

 

Now the positives.

 

Unbelievable ! but we have a new national record. For the first time we will have three 16 years old boys in the team (Šimon Nemec, Filip Mešár and Juraj Slafkovský) !!! in all previous 24 appearances at the U20 WCh we had only 2 guys who were at their 16 years during the tournament Marián Gáborík and Erik Černák

and it is only the 2nd time ever since 1977 a team will enter the tournament with more than two 16 years old boys in their roster

 

In fact the only team who had more than 2 players born 16 years before the tournament was Ukraine in 1996 fielding even four 16 years old boys. So we just eneterd the history books to 2nd place with 3.
