With it being October, there is already concern about the weather on some passes and stages for week 3. I think some of the favorites and teams are shifting decisions in getting the pink early in case of bad weather and whoever needs to get back time, will have a hard time with canceled climbs by the final week. Though our commentators were joking today, that the authorities have said that in any case the riders will go through Stelvio, even if it's behind a snowplow. :d

I don't think anyone - riders, team managers and fans - is expecting the full course to be done as planned :d

Not too good to see the doctor not stopping him, he looked like he was wobbling quite a lot and showed signs of a concussion..

He did indeed have concussion & abandoned today.  But questions will be asked etc etc.

Finish in Matera today, I absolutely recommend anyone who isn't familiar with that to Google it, especially if you're interested in general history it is incredibly interesting

I would be more impressed if it was Kim Jong-un instead. :p

Almeida stopping on the side of the road to change his radio stuff and McNulty hitting him straight in the back. That could have ended up worse.

Wow that pure domination of Demare in this sprint :yikes:

I mean, I've seen clear sprint wins, but this was just humiliating for everyone else :bowdown:

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
