Canada's junior women/mixed relay teams are too classy for the rest of the field, really wish China had brought their best so there could be some proper battles in those events. Even our guy Gaziev smashed his 50.66 PB to 50.32 leadoff in mixed relay heats and now 49.99 leadoff in mixed relay final. And Alex Pratt has a 51.87 PB (he's more of a distance man) and put up two sub 51 laps in heats and finals. Really looking forward to Women's 4x100m where Sanchez (3rd in individual), Smith (4th in individual), Ruck, and Oleksiak should go after another WJR

Another medal and national record for Pignatiello in 400, this time silver though I'm surprised some of the girls in this final improved their heat times by 4/5 seconds. Isn't that a bit unusual for the 400?

 

Tomorrow I expect her 3rd medal and record in 1500 (probably another silver).

Before these championships we had never had a world junior swimming medal. Now we have 3!! A gold, a silver and a bronze and a 4th place too!! Awesome, I can't believe it

Terrific results here for Canada with almost all swimmers obliterating their previous bests. Sadly Kayla Sanchez will have a hard time making national teams with her events, the majority of the senior team are juniors or swimmers that left juniors only 1 or 2 years ago.
