Ridiculous. They should have put women's 50k into Olympics long time ago, and definitely not this mixed relay nonsense.

Rumour is that some of the American threatened to sue the IAAF.

At the moment only 4 have qualified to take part.

You know who are they?

2 Chinese, 2 Americans

The world record holder from Portugal has to wait as her time was not set in an official qualifying event

Probably they will find ways on getting more to compete ib the end

Congrats, easy gold tomorrow, probably could have medalled at U23 european championships. There are many events where the medal winners at the U20 european championships could have medalled at the U23 european championships or the U18 world championships, i think they should seperate those competitions more, so that its possible to compete at all of them or at least two of them.

She improved the NR to 55.96, but didn't even win! Giger (SUI) ran 55.90. What's with the Swiss improvement in track events in recent years?

Very surprising, the swiss girl improved her PB by more than 1.5 seconds, which is extremely weird at a distance of only 400 m ...

Switzerland has also Hussein, Kambundji, Zbären, Fontanive and Sprunger. I guess we have to wait how the swiss girl progresses, she was born in 1999, but looks like a 25 year old, so its probably 50/50 whether she will continue to improve or not. It was kinda the same with Zbären, she reached the final in Beijing in 2015 and everyone thought that she would get only better, but then she completely vanished ...

Slovenian fans should be happy that they have two great track talents who will be able to compete in London, with Zupan and the male 400 m runner.

I think the german female 4x100 relay just set a new U20 world record ... ?!

Probably the first world record here, Niklas Kaul could also set a new world record by running 4:21 or faster later on. Duplantis probably wont be able to jump 6 m for now, so we probably wont see any more world records.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
