2026 Winter Olympics - Day 9 (February 15)

Here’s my take on the Homan team so far

 

First of all, just an awful start at 1-3, and somehow they’ve gone from somewhat heavy favourites (which I’m not sure how they were put into that position to begin with) to miraculously being one loss away from missing out on the playoffs four games in. 
 

Second of all, while Homan has made it to the last three Olympics, missed the playoffs twice, and is in real danger of it happening again, it hasn’t always been her fault. In 2018, yep she was terrible and they missed the playoffs. But in 2022, Morris was the liability in mixed doubles even though she missed the final shot by cm’s in their game against Italy that would’ve qualified them for the playoffs after starting 5-2. Now, in 2026. Homan played well in the Switzerland match, she even left Patz with a tough draw on her last in the extra end, just a few routine missed shots that led to disaster. US, Great Britain, and the first half of Denmark not so much, but then again neither did most of the team. Her and Miskew have been the worst two performing in my opinion.  

 

The Olympics hate Homan and she hates the Olympics.

I was anticipating being pessimistic today but I feel that this set of questions lent more to optimism, there's been a lot of great placements for the Canadians despite some big flops and lack of golds.
