Rowing WR World Championships 2025

Romania shouldn't complain, becouse they made enormous progress in recent years thanks to our coaches, who have now returned to Italy and taken our team. I hope they will do the same here by 2028, because until now in OG we could only count on 1-2 medals and very rarely on gold, like LWX2 in Tokio.

We haven't seen such a ridiculous World Cup in many years. A mere spectacle and little else, completely influenced by the catchment area and weather conditions.

I hope Poland :POL is back! Bronze medal for 4x (close to silver), 7 place for women's (1st place easily in final B - they will fight for final A in future for sure), 2x crew in final with a chance for medal, 5 place in semis and final A for mens 8 and still some I hope it will be better than in Paris.

Well done!

We a just happy to be in the final M4x and M4- semifinal. New foreign coach has a lot to do but the start is optimistic.

or, like GB they play around with the crews with an eye on making the best groupings for 2 years before when it really matters

but sure "boosters" is easier to explain away

Or one group of athletes have retired after Paris, and another uses this year for other things, like world and olympic champion Florijn giving priority to her studies.

And there is a new head coach.

They are usually weak 2 years after Olympics and then suddenly the "boosters" kick in. I'm talking about all their crews, not just M4x. Everybody knows what happens, but when you're born in the right part of Europe, some things are put aside

I advise you to look at the results of 2022 World Championships, one year after the Tokyo Olympics, where the Dutch team won seven medals in olympic events.

I didn't want to write before run, but missing a gold in the M4X for us, would be a huge disappointment for me and we got it :) Without the Netherlands, we are a the first force, but we have to take into account with their strong comeback in next years. Besides that, our men`s 8 run wery well and  they confidently advanced to the final with a  big chance of a medal here. Unfortunately, the rest of the team performed poorly – especially W2, which was in poor form here and 4th place in the final is a bad result for me – especially considering our time loss to podium. Despite everything, I was hoping for more finals for us, but the most important thing is our first gold medal since 2018 at the World Championships in Olympic events:clap:

In such conditions, you need to be strong from heat 1 and then choose the best lanes later, like our M4X. It is clearly visible that lanes 4-6 are the best and in every final the favorites will choose them. I remember in London 2012 OG was similar.

Good win for :POL in men’s double sculls. :SRB in second

Very encouraging bronze for :IRL who included lightweight champion Fintan McCarthy in his first year as a heavy weight.

Olympic champions :ROU qualified by winning semi but finished 6th surprisingly

I'm counting on Italy's medal in the men`s 8 tomorrow. Without it, I won't be satisfied even with that one gold. The gold was practically guaranteed, considering our lineup and the lineups of our rivals, but we should have won at least one medal in several other events. Unfortunately, the lack of a lightweight sector significantly limits us, and our women's team is simply very weak, except for the one 2, who finished 4th yesterday. And unfortunately, nothing has changed in this regard for several years.

Our coaches are working to achieve success in half of Europe, but yet we are weak, with only three Olympic category finals here it`s a poor result. After a successful cycle before Tokyo 2020 and the OG 2020/2021, I was hoping for further development, but unfortunately, we are  stagnating. Okay, we put our all best men to M4X and finally won gold, but where's the rest of the team? Where are the women's medals?

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
    • Idea (that I don't want to mess with right now, but someone else can steal the idea): Could feed the docs from LA28 + Paris 2024 through AI and see what it says.  (Would just take downloading them, perhaps merging them for ease of upload, and passing it through.)
    • If you have time would love to see a sport by sport overview of the changes/new sports
    • Slowly going through the documents.   Looks like canoe slalom qualifiers will be a bit different. More kayak cross quotas which will let nations to essentially qualify two kayakers.
    • How about we choose either Rome or Milano  I hate this timeline we have entered of multiple host cities / countries. The football World Cup became ludicrous, we don't need the Olympics to join them. At least not more than they already are.
