In any case, Israel should be grateful it wasn't banned from all competitions.

This is basically in line with my thinking on this.

 

On the one hand, this sets a really bad precedent, and it isn't acceptable for an entire country's delegation to be denied visas for a world championship.

 

On the other hand, Israel is real lucky they haven't been banned or made "neutral" by any IF in the past two years.

Any organisations that did that knows they would face the USA and Trump putting their Olympics place in major jeopardy. .Plus other countries like Germany who have been vocal in opposition to boycotts of Israel.

That does worry me quite a bit. Trump is completly mercurial so no way to really know what kind of mood he'll be in then (or if he's even still cognizant enough to make decisions by then).
