Austria & Italy looks with the best equipment shape here so far. Ninis just by his participation today marked our sport history with his 6th appearance at a WOG he tied the all time SVK Olympic record with the Canoe Sprinter Erik Vlček who competed at 6 Summer Games as well

Looking at results now, :LAT Aparjods 4th in the second training run, much better :yes

Would be awesome to see Latvia get 2-3 medals here, with a combination of Bots/Plume (my favourite luge team), Bota, Aparjods, and Upite/Kaluma (they aren't here never mind, Bogdanova/Robezniece instead)

the Germans are coming...

but for now the Italians are still in front of the pack

however, looking at the training runs, it will be a very close, heartbeating competition, like we've not seen very often at the Olympic Games

I've looked at Beijing's training runs. You couldn't have guessed Ludwig would win handily - apart from Kindl but he did win 3 races out of 4 and only conceded 1 hundredth of a second in the 4th. Let's hope we will witness some turnarounds.

    • Not in modern times (believe it has happened back in the 19th century). The Social Democrats were rather close in the mid-30s, but generally it's been the Social Democrats as the largest getting challenged by either Venstre (the old, liberal party) or the Conservatives (though their latest peak was in the 80s). Keep in mind that most Danish governments have been minority governments. The latest government (well, it's still the government until the new one is formed) was the first one since the early 90s and only the 5th since the Second World War.
    • Always, when I go from the high mountains- Moena to Trento at the beginning of March, I could already feel spring - green all around, olive trees etc. A nice contrast.
