The negative reaction in the media here in the UK has already started because the BBC thought she was going to get Bronze. The Olympics coverage on the BBC is very negative when we mess up.

This didn't happen and all they are talking about is how proud Muir should be and how she is still the fourth best in the world and so on. You are just making things up because you want to bleat on about funding again and again which is not under threat at all

Tbf , it is same everwhere, the media builds up expectations &when athletes fails to deliver they become negative. In this case the medal was for Muir to loose. She did almost enough but just fell short. I agree, a GB medal today would have boosted the entire squad & media.

I think it would if the Snow team repeated Bejing and got 0 medals with multiple defending or former World Champions in the team.
