It is true, and Italians have always sort of struggled on this track, in spite of being at home.

 

Still, there are degrees in failure, and today's skis are beyond atrocious.

Belarus is basically non-existent in cross-country (unlike biathlon). Every  in cross-country is Russian.

Agreed with our commentator: the Russians are sorely missed from a sports perspective. Men's cross-country skiing is relatively speaking boring compared to when we still had Bolshunov or something to challenge the Norwegians.
