Does anyone remember why in 1994 there was no Russian woman in the top? After all, it was always a great power...

My theory is that there were not enough ice rinks for all figure skaters and ice hockey players in USSR, so only those who had a bigger chance for medals could properly train. Since there were good pairs and dancers (and ice hockey teams), why bother about women?

Bring back the 1991 borders

Women's Quotas:

3 quotas:

:USA:JPN

2 quotas:

:KOR

1 quota:

:BEL:EST:CAN:SUI:ITA:KAZ:FRA:ISR:AUT:FIN:ROU:POL:BUL:GBR:LTU

:BEL:EST are able to send another skater to the final qualifier.

One quota from these world championships will be reallocated to the final qualifier because Switzerland wasn't able to fulfill the requirements for two skaters.

Expand

:SUI got the 2 quotas because a skater can't get more than 16 points in the free skating even if they finish lower than that. With the other one being in the 12th position, Switzerland got exactly 28 points needed to qualify 2 skaters via the World Championships.

i personally do not care but there are obviously historical reasons for that and plenty of poles don't like us either, which i don't know, feels like in our partnership they were the ones who got everything,it was their empire, they had all the power, people here have reasons to be bitter at poles if they want to be,why poles don't like us exactly, not sure.

To be honest? Polish People nowadays like Lithuania. The main bad feelings are for Ukraine, Russia, Germany. Rest neighbours we are cool. I was in the Lithuania and have nice chats there,  they react nicely when I told them I am Polish. If we speak about Lithuania it was a Little hard moment when Lithuania has a problem with polish language  and schools and treat badly polish minority. If we speak about short Polish-Lithuanian war after I world or our Republic before it is not sth harmful and shameful for both nation. Vilnus was strongely connected with Poland.

Poles usually don`t like Germans and Russians the most for historical reasons. In the case of Lithuania it`s probably the same as with Ukraine, that there are some local misunderstandings. Certainly all these countries: Poland, Baltic countries, Ukraine etc. have a common enemy - imperial Russia and they have to stick together.

No anti Russian and German vibe is really strong, but half of nation could admire German change after 2 world. We respect that they try to be over the past and not letting this happened again.  Anti Ukraine feelings are really strong now, because they have a Bandera as a Hero, and not let for exhumation in Volhynia. This hits for our relations so strong. We are really cool with Belarussian. Really neutral  with Czech and Slovakia. Lithuania too. I think even Polish People are into Baltics country more.

hiliarously in modern times it was poland who we had a war with for our capital and yeah i would not call that a ''missunderstanding''  it was THE SOVIETS who gave it back to us[obviously they were in our land afterwards and they were just using us  but still it's what happened] again i have no hatred for poles but some of them, especially their football fans who arrive here are insuffarable,i certainly won't bother talking anyone out of their hatred for them if they have such a thing, that's their right to do so,i don't think it's a big part of the population anyway,we have a significant polish political party so it's hardly a big issue here.

You know that we could get back Vilnus and for example not have this "German" lands. The people who decided about Europe and World there have different plans for this. Believe me 99% has no problems with Vilnus being Lithuanian and Lvov in Ukraine ;) Do not judge Poland by "football fans", most of Polish did not like this hooligans too. They can devastate even things in Poland and create many dangerous situation... Fortunately mostly in league matches

I have no clue who these ''99'' procent are and it's actually this annoying  superiorioty complex attitude that actually gets poles disliked here.Vilnius is OUR CAPITAL,it has been so forever, poland has no basis to have it,the fact we were once in a commenwealth does not mean you just get to declare another city yours.i don't know how you wrote this comment and expected me to have a good reacton to it.

Sory  my mistake "99% has no problems" should be.  Apologize for this mistake. Nobody in Poland even talk about this kind of issue.

It comes down to what is taught in Poland about the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Union of Lublin isn't shown as unfavorable for Lithuania as it really was. A lot of the southern territories of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was "given" to Poland but it was actually stolen by Poles, the Polish language overpowered the Lithuanian one among the elites, the common coin was Polish-based. At one point, the PLC starts to get treated like one big country, with Vilnus as one of the major cities of Poland. The Vilnius University shown as an important Polish university, Mickiewicz calling Lithuania his home while writing in Polish, etc. The whole stuff after the World War One is barely touched in the high school when barely anyone cares about history anyway, I guess most people don't even know it. With this lack of the knowledge, Vilnus is one of the lost Polish cities, just like Lviv.

The current animosities are down to the early 2010s and Grybauskaitė being the president of Lithuania - when there was the increase of the Lithuanian subjects taught in the Polish schools, troubles with Polish surnames, places' and streets' names. The Polish hooligans were also quick to pick it up. To be honest, Lithuania isn't looked down at but people don't understand why Lithuania has the right not to like Poland.

Come on, it's 2025! Why are we still debating the Commonwealth that ended over 200 years ago or World War I? Lighten up and enjoy some figure skating! :d

    • With a week to go till the deadline for the world invitational, the rosters look beefy for the discus on both sides.24 entries for the men[19 accepted in so far] and 25 for the women[18 accepted so far] For the men so far there are three 70 meter throwers[i count Denny as that since it's just 4 centimeters off his pb]10 from mid 66 to low 69,three of 65 and over, four from almost 64 to almost 65.On the women's side the 18 accepted throwers all have a pb of over 60 meters.11 of them have  pbs over 64 plus.of the ones still not there besides Valerie and Yaime who have been marketed so i can only assume they will join, such names as  Sandra Elkasevic,Bin Feng, and jordine van klinken aren't signed up yet, jordine's probably the most likely of them to join in tough feng would be a cool surprise,i somehow don't see Sandra doing this, but it would be awesome if she did.Stahl and ceh aren't in yet on the men's side, ceh has been marketed while stahl hasn't been mentioned at all,[pretty sure stahl will not be there],Lukas[last name is too wild for me to even try] and lawrence okoye aren't there yet either but i'm betting both will be joining in.
    • What a shame. That would have been amazing.
    • It's complete American domination in the women's discus rankings so far this year, they occupy the top 4 slots, and the WORST result of those four was achieved at Ramona .Third place currently belongs to Ciera Jackson who had a huge almost 4 METER pr at the west coast relays on friday-64.42[previous best was 60.77 from march of 2023,and she opened her season a week ago with at that time her second best result ever of 60.14]she also had a 63.66 throw to back this new pb up,and finally with her new personal best she took down the school record that stood for 36 YEARS[Btw Valerie Allman actually competed in Ramona on march 30th but conditions were apparently far from ideal and she fouled four times and her best was a 63.61,i don't doubt that in the event that she competes in the  world intational, the conditions will be perfect,i wouldn't be so bold as to say she wouldl get the world record but for sure i think she could get a new personal best.
    • So after finding this this morning     I started to search for more news about the date and ticket prices all over the world web !   I found this then       to just notice later that   it was April fools     so yeah, that was my day
