IOC President Election 2025

Recommended Posts

watching the IOC session yesterday it was like Chinese communist party, everybody praising the dictator and trying to kiss a part of his body. it was like he invented the Olympic himself. very disgusting.

of course such result was expected after that.

Quite surprised by the result, I guess Bach has more influence on every member than anyone expected. I just hope Kirsty's reign is better than her tenure as Secratary of Sport in Zimbabwe.

If she can get pressing matters sorted like this blanket ban on transgender athletes sorted quickly, like she promised to do in a recent BBC interview, then I can see her reign being quite successful. I can also see her being in favour of more athlete quotas for LA which is always a good sign, and maybe we'll finally get 50m events fully at an Olympics which is something I assume she'll be looking at doing.

It probably is but having Zimbabwe suspended during your tenure isn't something to be proud of.

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
