:DMA will attempt to return to the Winter Olympics, with a male competitor trying to achieve the requirements tomorrow.

What would they need to place to reach the standard?

It doesn't matter what place they finish in as long as they finish with 300 or less FIS points in the race. This document describes the calculation process. In summary, the FIS points earned are dependent upon the winner's time, your own time, and a factor level for that race determined by FIS.

Anyone know if the qualification races on Wednesday count towards the Olympic nations ranking?

Not directly. They do count towards the standings in the 10k though. Say there are 70 athletes directly entering the 10k, plus 10 from the 7.5k today. Then whoever finishes 11th today, gets position 81 in the 10k result, and so on. At least that's how it worked 4 years ago.

Plus the penalty, which depends on which athletes are in the top-5. Not relevant today, because the men's penalty has already been set at 90, the women's at 120.

Does anyone have a clue where the races might be shown? I know it'll be on HBO Max and most people around us at home have it, but not everyone :p

Edit: found 1, Austrian ÖRF, but any other option is welcome.

With the demise of Eurosport  here in :GBR it can be seen on the Pay TV Channel TNT Sports 4 & Discovery+

It's not on NRK or SVT though.

The qualification document list the qualification races as a direct way to achieve the basic quota, so maybe this time they will take the points directly from the race.

Those are the FIS points I think, that's separate from the nations ranking points :p
