Agreed. Removed.

Actually I'm trying to work out if :NED would be eligible to qualify for a Pan American place because Sint Maarten is a member of the West Indies Cricket Board

Yes, I honestly find it totally wrong. The free competition is only one part of the Olympic event, it would be like counting the artistic gymnastics AA only on beam. The Olympic competition involves the sum of free+tech in the duo and free+tech+acro in the team competition, you could simply add up the result of each NOC in those competitions

Agreed, I have fixed that.

I'm new to these forums...so glad to have found it.  @Sindo the medal tracker is so great.  I know a lot of time goes into it...thanks for that.  Is there anywhere to see, for instance, the world championships organized by sport and not by nation?  Like, a page with a list of the 300ish events, along with which nation most recently won the medals in the WCH?

I have now updated all the World Championships and I see some events are missing in your counts, right? For example in Judo and Fencing I see you have counted only some events, why is that?

Mainly because I just had no time to do all the events.

But also i wonder what to do with some judo events (there are 2 athletes per NOC in WCH and only 1 athlete per NOC in the olympics) and with fencing individual events (2 bronze medals in WCH, 1 bronze medal in the olympics). I don't want to just count and add all the medals together, I want to make "an olympic simulation", so I have to figure out sth.

No, that's currently not available. But it would be quite quick to do it, just copy-pasting all the medals from the nations' pages. I am just not sure how useful that would be? I think listing them by country rather than by event is much more useful, isn't it?

But if you think it can be interesting to have it, we can think a way to do it and you can also contribute to that!

Yeah, that's right, but I think we can't help with those situations. Also the qualification is completely different, in most of the WCs there are basically no limitations on qualification. I mean in a team sport world championship you might have 15 european teams which is more than the nations that will compete at the Olympics across all continents. So a "complete" simulation is not possible.

Thank you for the reply.  I think this page would be interesting for someone (like myself) who is interested in exploring different sports and seeing who are current world champions for that sport/discipline.  Or, for instance, suppose I click on the USA to see we won the bronze medal in a certain event, but I want to know who won the other medals.  I would either need to click through the other NOCs, or find the event or discussion thread in the appropriate forum.

One other functionality improvement would be adding links in a couple of places.  One would be in the scenario above, where in exploring by NOC, you could click 'Men's Singles' or whatever event, and it takes you either to the Event page, or to the Discussion thread for that event, or to this new hypothetical medallist-by-event page (which could then link to the Event/Discussion).

The other place for a link would be on the World Championship calendar page itself, where a user could see an upcoming/previous WCH and easily click to find more information (going to the Event page or straight to the Discussion thread, if available).

To the extent that I could help with this, I would be glad to.  I have found all of the information on this website insightful and informational, and would be glad to contribute to the community.

The bigger problem in this case is the rhythmic gymnastics all-arround competition for groups today, because they will be performing with new apparatus during 2026-2028, and dumb 5 ribbons will be excluded

And thank goodness, I might add. Medals cannot be decided by lottery; a single knot is enough to cancel out all the Ds in succession.

Thanks for your input, yes that makes sense.

What we could start to do is to add a link to the relevant calendar event. Example.

If you click on Cycling (Mountain Bike) you will be redirected to the calendar event of the 2024 Mountain Bike WCs, with links to the results system.

This can be done for all events quite quickly. Something longer to realize, but still very possible, would be to add the the world championships medallists (and maybe also the previous olympic ones, so that we have the complete results of the Olympic quadriennium), in the qualification trackers for each event.

For example, the Archery medals would redirect to a page like this (of course for LA28 and not for Paris), where each tab also includes the medallists of Paris 2024 and all the world championships of that event between Paris and LA.
