First bit of Olympics I saw consciously was 2000 (so Greene), but first time I actually saw a live event was 2004 (Gatlin).

 

However, the first time I actually saw the 100 live was Bolt in 2012, when I really started watching the Olympics more in-depth and became a fan of the power of the event for smaller sports.

I didn't remember his name until seeing this thread, but it was Donovan Bailey in Atlanta.  (I know I was watching the Olympics a little earlier, but I don't remember any specifics.).  Atlanta was a big one since it was so close to where we lived.

Bolt  in 2008 Beijing. I used to watch & play football before that but 2008 got me hooked into Olympic sports. 
 

 also won first ever individual 🥇 in Beijing. Another reason to fall in love with Olympics!
