Hall with the best start of all the favourites, :IRL Kate O'Connor also certainly throwing her hat in the ring.

There is always one sad case  and this time it is :GBR Abbie Pawlett who falls.  Just on the last hurdle, so time is not completely hopeless, but no chance of any decent placing.

Oh that is nice, it has a season average tab! That is way better than the forecasts that only use everyone's heptathlon PB or (worse) the event PB's. Those are of course better than nothing, but using a more realistic average is perfect, thanks :d

No problem, glad I could help :d

Just for fun i will keep checking what-if... Ada Sułek beat her PB a bit in each event in heptatathlon. What would it bring her?

Ofc one can dream... Ada is coming back slowly, she missed Budapest WCH due to pregnancy, so i don't expect much from her here, glad she's back. I hope she will be much stronger at Indoor WCH in March 2026 (Toruń, Poland).

BTW, anybody wants to come to Toruń for Indoor WCH? A nice town in Poland, believe me.

All the totallympics users, you are welcome!

March 20-22

Should be fun, if there's no war with Russia here yet.

I like the heptathlon TV graphics here. Everything easy to follow!

Now all they need to do is add a forecast. Just showing standings with current points is only like 50% at best this early in a heptathlon.

BBC missed the live heptathlon hurdles because reasons, so when the athletics finally started they had a full half hour of yakking, montages and features before finally getting round to showing three Brits in action an hour previously.   Athletics fans without expensive cable subs not happy.....:bones:

    • Hey guys, I contribute Skeleton articles for a new winter-sports focused website called "All things Snow".   I was wondering if any of you could please spare a few moments to read my latest article on the World Cup finale in Altenberg a few weeks ago.   Any feedback on length, content, or just general tips will be greatly appreciated. I'll be sure to implement them in my Olympic Skeleton recap pieces. Thanks!   https://allthingssnow.net/2026/01/19/pfeifer-and-wyatt-win-the-finale-meylemans-and-weston-seal-crystal-globes/

    • changes that go absolutely against the Italians (notoriously the top swimmers and not the best shooters in MP) 😭😭😭   now it's really time to axe MP from the Games 😈🥳
    • I think there was a feeling before the obstacle course was introduced that really, really solid endurance runners were starting to dominate - in Triathlon you might call it the Alex Yee conundrum. Personally, I don't mind at all if the 'martial' elements are reemphasised as that is the real 'soul' of the sport - Triathlon, Marathon and Road cycing are there for genuine endurace, MP is in some senses a 'soldiery' test - one reason I thought Judo might have been a better addition than the obstacle course. But placing a higher emphasis on the fight bits over the flight bits seems a legitimate idea - though it should also increase the X-country nature of the run so that the test of a fresh shooter at the beginning is rather different from the test of a knackered one at the end. I quite like the artificial hill in rio.
