True, but it has the opposite affect as well. Now with the internet i can watch it whenever i can / want. Unlike in the past, when if you didn't watch it live, you could very well have missed it. So if it's not something unmissable and i'm busy with something, i prefer to come home, have a drink, lay down and watch it like a champ. :d

Volleyball match: Bulgaria- Poland in 1/2 on 2006 World Champ you watched live? It was in Japan, so i think early morning in Europe. The Internet already existed in that time, but it was too slow to watch sports live.

Can't remember about that, but most likely have watched it live on TV.

Kenya is at the second place in the medal table.

But one Keyan track and field athlete got himself success in the othwe way these days.

* * *

Ukrainian defenders captured a Kenyan track and field athlete in the area of responsibility of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Kost Gordiyenko, in the Vovchansk sector. This was reported by the brigade’s press service.

The prisoner’s name is Evans. His last name has not been disclosed.

His sports agent offered him and three other Kenyans a tourist trip to St. Petersburg, which was financed by the Russian Federation.

At the end of the trip, the person accompanying the group suggested that the foreigners stay in Russia and take up employment. By signing papers written in Russian — unknowingly, as the prisoner claims — he became a Russian soldier.

Upon arriving at a military camp and realizing he was expected to serve, Evans tried to refuse the ‘job,’ but he was told that he had already signed a contract and nothing could be changed. If he refused to carry out orders, he would be executed.

The prisoner said the training lasted a week, during which he was shown how to handle a rifle.

His commanders and instructors did not know English, so they usually pulled him by the arms or pushed him to make him do what they wanted. However, there were also a few other foreigners in his unit,” the statement said.

The Kenyan managed to escape on the way to his first combat mission.

For two days he wandered through the forests near Vovchansk, searching for Ukrainian soldiers to surrender himself. The man is asking not to be exchanged back to Russia, as he is convinced that death awaits him there,” the brigade reported.

I still have the impression that Bulgaria with Matej could have won more than a few bronze medals at the World/European Championships.

No, its in Kharkiv region. Russians have under their control relatively small parts of Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions.

I never haven't been in Kharkiv, but my father used to go there as a tourist in the USSR times - I think there was a World War II museum?

:BOL and :PAR are the weakest South American nations in all of sports. I'm not sure about the latter but Bolivia is probably the poorest country on the continent. Maybe @hoversaBRor @LuizGuilhermecan elaborate on that.

I've heard somewhere that besides football and racketball people dont really have a sport culture in Bolivia, its not jus about weak economy.

Paraguay is different, they have a good economy and a good sport structure, maybe in next years they can start to be relevant in some sports. The Panamerican Games in Assuncion can help a lot.

What`s about Guyana? It`s look like at very small country. Are there any popular sports there? A few months ago I read that Venezuela wanted to invade this small country, it`s true?
