A 'team' event that actually kind of adds something, interesting :d

I can't wait, I'm thrilled.... One of the worst events in all of winter sports.

On the other hand, I am curious about the Livigno stage, where there will be the Moguls Olympic slope. It looks like it will be worked well with snowcats and it seems they want to make it a stable slope, which would be a great thing for the Italian movement, since there is currently no decent infrastructure for moguls

Why? :p

I mean, a team event adds nothing, we just see the exact same thing but with the scores added, whereas synchronized actually is a different thing to watch. Like, synchronized diving...fine. But a team event in diving where the scores are simply added? Meh.

The full season starts this weekend - it's the :SUI Big Air weekend.  Practise already underway!

Friday - Ski Big Air - qualifiers in the morning, finals at night.

Saturday - Snowboard Big Air - qualifiers in the morning, finals at night.

It's not all good though - Swiss DJs are threatening to play.  :pope:

Little surprise at the opening of the Big Air World Cup, :SUI Andre Ragettli did not qualify for the final.

Apparently from this season we will don't know the scores of 2nd jump if there isn't an improvement. Not the best thing...

Will speed things up.  There's no point in debating whether this fall was better than that fall.

As long as that's all. Not showing the 2nd jump scores only makes sense if jump 1 was a normal, non-fall jump, and jump 2 was a fall. Otherwise, they both obviously need to be scored (and it makes no sense to not show the scores then).

We were talking about it during the season opening halfpipe WC, I think you missed it :p

Hopefully the crazy maniac (or s) who thought of this idea get put in jail (… just kidding of course), and this nonsense format is only being tried out for this season and won’t return in 2025-26 :zip: :bones::rolleyes::smash:

    • is having its general election today.   In a big turnaround, the Liberals lead by Mark Carney are now ahead in the polls, after having been over 20 points behind as recently as December. This is mostly credited to the resignation of Justin Trudeau and America's on and off trade war, along with comments Donald Trump made about Canada becoming the 51st state.   While the Liberals are favoured to win a fourth consecutive election, there is a lot of uncertainty around whether it will be a majority or a minority government. There is also an outside chance of the Conservatives, lead by Piere Poilievre, will form a minority government.
    • Ukraine has made progress recently and lost yesterday on penalties to the UK, but that still doesn't explain why the Italian team isn't making any progress. We are sitting in a lower division for 3 years and that's with a ban for Rus and Blr. New and great coaches are being brought in and it's not giving any results. 8-10 years ago we were regularly playing in the highest division, every 2 years and that was with a much stronger teams (Russia and Belarus were there). I don't know where the problem is.

    • Many things, probably they thought it is already over and the win will come itself... but also Nitra improved their play a lot, they outplayed us in physicality in the last 2 games, they won almost every duel. Was hard to watch. Anyway I am still persuated we will finish the job at home with success on Tuesday
    • If you look at their results this season and on the Super Series, it’s not really that surprising.    I’d consider them to be medal contenders.
    • At one point it seemed we were making good progress in this sport, but in the past 1-2 years things seem to have hit a standstill..   Ivaylo Ivanov is still our only elite judoka, but he is passing 30. There were/are some promising youngsters, but they haven't been able to make a jump to the senior level. At this Euro we barely had any first round wins (not including Ivanov). In fencing and taekwondo the results are much more visible for us.
    • yes, but that's only an (important) episode... I mean, what's up with your team more in general...it looks like they got the classic "fear to win", they're not as brilliant as they were in the early games of the series
