And of course today, Panama loses to Colombia who Canada beat 8-2 on Saturday.

 

That is good news for Canada though. If my math is correct, Canada will advance as long as they beat the loser of the Cuba vs. Puerto Rico game.

Canada through to the quarterfinals for the first time in history! 7-2 win over Cuba and we win the group :cheer:

Italy beating the USA really complicated things for us. If the USA finished first, they'd be facing PR in the next round (we'll ignore that the US essentially gets two teams), and Canada would face either Italy or Mexico. Now, PR probably has a not-as-strong opponent in the next round, while Canada could very likely face the USA. 

 

We have to hope Japan and Korea do their jobs on the other end of the bracket. Then Canada just needs to keep winning. Simple!
