Jacobs with a ridiculous shot to score three and win 8-2 against Austria. Clinches a 1 or 2 spot in the semi-final tomorrow with one game left. 

 

Canada has had lots of trouble at the last two Olympics, but watching Homan earlier and Jacobs this week reminds me of the good 'ol Canadian domination days. Not to jinx anything yet!

Olympic qualifiers are  and probably  but could pull off a miracle with a top two finish and get ahead of them I suppose.

Based on my quick and dirty tie-break hell calculation will qualify for the Olympics if they beat and fails to finish in the top 2.

right yes I had put into calcuation what  had as a worst case and forgot  they could move up two spots. thank you

At the conclusion of the round robin, six Olympic spots have been decided:  (plus host  )

 

 will get the last ranking quota if they make the finals. Otherwise the final spot goes to .

Unfortunate the way things worked out. Despite finishing 1st, Canada has to face the winner of Sweden/Scotland. But you have to beat the best to win anyway. 

 

Edit: And it'll be Scotland, the only team Canada lost to in the round robin.

Guess what? There’s been yet another instance of  Team Xu cheating, this time in the quarterfinals against  … 

 

 

 

They didn’t benefit from it (luckily), but it’s the principle of it happening again that frankly has me pissed off at the fact that they not only made it this far, but are one win away from qualifying for the Olympics, the sport on the biggest stage. Curling has no room for cheaters and I hope World Curling does something about it.
