In a rematch of the Olympic final,  Qinwen Zheng gets the better of  Donna Vekic again, 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-2

 

The match, which ended at 2:15 am local time, is the latest women’s match in US Open history.

The billionaire Americans final is still possible but Sabalenka will probably spoil it.

 

Errani & Vavassori won the mixed title. Tortellini is having some few weeks seemingly years after her prime (albeit no longer in singles, duh).

Aryna Sabalenka beat Emma Navarro 6-2 7-6(2) and Jessica Pegula came from 1-6 0-2 down to beat Karolina Muchova in three sets. Muchova had BP to go 3-0 in the second set but blew it in vintage WTA fashion.

Lyudmila Kichenok & Jelena Ostapenko won the women's doubles. Probably the best doubles team of the last 2-3 years that hasn't yet won a GS... until now.
