Two interviews on nos.nl, National coach Kerstholt and Schulting.

 

Apparantly there has not yet been a conversation with Schulting about what exactly is expected of her. Qualification is apparantly not conditional on particpating in the European Champs next week, and it’s clear she does not want to participate and feels she’s done enough to warrant selection for the games.

 

Kerstholt refused to say much more than that the decision is difficult and needs more time. It’s not clear what more is needed to make the decision. I got the distinct impression that he does not want Schulting and the selection committee does.  Perhaps he hopes that v Oorschot will do so well next week, that she will justify her selection that way.

 Pietro Sighel has gone down hard, very hard on the Italian NOC and on the Olympic Organizing Committee because of their criminal prizing of the tickets and the fact that many home athletes haven't even got a couple of reserved places for their family members

 

he also went down hard on our media (especially the public TV, RAI, FTA broadcaster of the Games in our Country) and he said that Italy has wasted once again a big chance to promote Wintersports in the whole Nation and get the atheltes themselves the recognition they deserve

 

love to see this wonderful atmosphere among our top guys just before the Olympics start

Yea short track is ridiculous. $452 Canadian i paid for one ticket in the "cheap seats"

First of all, they should be allowed to train our team on the track in Milan right now.  Alpine skiing was only promoted thanks to the successes of Goggia and Brignone, but that didn't really help us much either... As for the results, sometimes such anger can bring better results than the general idyll and great atmosphere... Look at Giacomel today...

I already wrote this on Casa Italia, that we had stars like Brignone and Goggia for 10 years and the prospect of home games for several years, we did nothing, even in alpine skiing... What's more, we also lost another star of the younger generation and maybe even greater than the previous two - Lara Colturi.

I paid €450.00 for a category A tickets each of the two sessions I'm going to 😅

but who cares? this is not the sliding sports, where the track design and the sled's technology make the difference more than the athletes themselves

 

here the skates are the same for everybody, there's no advantage in training in Milan rather than in any other (comfortable) place. Actually, they should train in altitude, to build more oxygen reserves in their bodies, not in the middle of the Pianura Padana before the Games

The skaters have different opinion on this matter... And earlier you cited Sighel's words.. If it would help them even a little, the organizer should make the track available to them now.
