the next time the FIS updates it's olympic qualification tables there will be some new men's nations: :JAM , :MGL , and :LBN  all made the standard. :SMR has two male competitors very close as well. It looks to me like those quotas will be taken from :SWE:ITA and :FRA but I am not certain.

Add :TPE in the mens as well, Troy Chang made it this morning.  :SMR just missed, both Mini and Stacchini are right on the doorstep.

Just for anyone interested, I found a couple of these Dubai races live streamed on YT :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NXKNv8KSEA

:SLO Andreja Slokar suffered a torn ACL in her right knee and is out of Olympics :(

Think most of us oldies know this but maybe some new arrivals don't.

How :FIN has mastered the art of preparing pistes with early season snow.

We can add another nation to the men's competition as :RSA Thomas Weir reached less than 120 FIS points average in the slalom.

Yes, good catch. Other interesting ones right now are women's :AZE is close, there is a women competing for :ISV who seems to have a chance, and the skiier from :PAK who I incorrectly thought had already made it (but is very close). Also I noticed that Nathan Tchibozo is competing today for :BEN . I don't understand his status, he was denied release from Togo (who he had qualified for the Olympics with) and the release from the FIS said he would have to sit out a year. Then he showed up on the provisional Olympic list, for about 3 days. Now he is competing and it appears that his recent FIS point totals are all blanked out.
