Screw the Panthers. Dirtiest team in the league. Every game a player tries to commit some illegal headshot, skate to the knee, choke, or other dirty play to the other teams star players. Everyone besides Barkov and Bobrovsky can be blasted into the sun and the punks Bennett, Ekblad, Marchands, Tkachuk and Mikkola can be blasted all the way to Pluto.

you're really a great fan of them, I see... :drama:

not that I don't agree with you, but still, many of these guys made me win my fantasy league twice in a row (and finish 2nd this season), so, I just can't blame all of them...just those not on my team :p

p.s. the problem is that if they don't win again, it's gonna be Edmonton, aka the worst ad for hockey...:bones:

they're just a 2/3-guy-team with no good goalies, no defense and a bunch of ordinary players beside the McDavid & Draisaitl scoring machine, just trying to outscore the opponents as their only plan

100%. And they'll keep getting away with it because Colin Campbell is still in charge while his son is the assistant GM in Florida. He helps him cheat today just like he helped him cheat when he was a player. It's been proven in court. This would not be tolerated in any other pro sports league (even little league), but unfortunately the NHL is an old boys network full of corruption.

I would never wish injury on anyone, but I hope Edmonton is ready to put these thugs in their place right away.

the Florida Panthers, for most people's displeasure, completed their back-to-back and are still the NHL Stanley Cup Champions :champion:

technically, totally deserved win for them, 4 games to 2 is even too much recognition for the Edmonton Oilers

the men from South-East were clearly on top of this year's final, Edmonton's partial wins were just a case, some kind of Florida's distraction rather than theiractual superiority on the ice

once again, the 2025 finals showed how it's impossible to win the Cup with a team built on 2/3 superstars eating out almost all the salary cap and a bunch of cheap guys as the supporting cast (and especially, no very good goalies): Hockey is NOT basketball, the NHL isn't the NBA :raspberry:

Pretty much. Even the players who get a lot of ice time rarely play more than half the game. Plus they are only one player out of five on the ice (minus the goalie).

There's a reason why Vegas almost won the cup in their first season despite having no superstars in their prime. Turns out having a team of second liners is better than having a traditional set of 1-2-3-4 lines.

Two new teams in the SCF next year, please :cheer: (and not the Leafs, Knights, Sens, Flames or Bruins)

    • Yes, she was unlucky, but it could just as easily have happened during some training, like with Gut, etc. Brignone has been essentially injury-free throughout her long career, which is very rare in this sport. It's unfortunate that this happened after her best season ever and just 1 year before the Olympic Games in home, when she just missing of win the Olympic gold medal in her great career. With the gold in Cortina, she would have become a legend of Italian skiing, on par with Tomba. Now she's still the best Italian woman in history, but the miss of Olympic gold will likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
    • It sad to see this season, as I remember, that Fede last year was winning everywhere, when she competed and finished and now we haven't even managed a single podium in the giant slalom, and it'll probably stay that way until the end of the season. Without Fede and Bassino, unfortunately, we're out of good cards in this event. For me Goggia should probably skip the giant slalom at all, becouse she has no chance of a podium and she risks further injuries. If even Goggia finish 8th or 10th? What difference does it make? If she couldn't get a podium finish today with so many DNFs at the top skiers, she probably never do. Della Mea is OK this year, but let's be honest, she's not World Cup podium material. Overall, it's a sad picture, and we have a 0% chance of anything in Cortina unless a miracle happens in Brignone return.   We have two chances for Goggia in DH and SG + maybe a dark horse in Pirovano/Curtoni in SG. That's all. In technical events, we have a 0% chance for medal and that's sad. Our federation also lost Colturi in this situation... In any normal country, the head of such a federation should be dismissed for disciplinary reasons and this case should be investigated by the minister, or even the prime minister, but not in Italy...
    • Mikaela Shiffrin  off the podium today (Edit: Oops...I thought this was slalom, not Giant Slalom.).  Nina Astner  entered the 2nd run in 30th place, but had the best second run, jumping up 18 places to 12th.
    • Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel with a 5th place PB in Semmering GS!
