Western media? The story came out of Russia. And the parts of the Western Media that is running with it are all your favourite right wing reporters.

This is basically something your side of the culture war is using to attack the left.

Errm no.... what has happened over the last couple of years is that the major Olympic sports like cycling, athletics, swimming etc have realised that women's sports would be dead if the Left got their way and have very sensibly decided to protect them.  A major victory for common sense.  Now, some gender fanatic on the IOC had dug up these two banned athletes and forced international boxing to include them.  Even then it was not that big a story....until the first fight took place and all the world could see what an unfair & dangerous mismatch it was.

There is no such thing as the IBA here. The tournament are being run under the 2016 rules because that's the last time Boxing had an IF.

We don't have any real clarity about what the gender test they failed was, outsdide of uncomfirmed rumours (and anything the IBA says isn't exactly reliable, they clearly have an agenda here), and whether or not that would lead to a ban in athletics or swimming or any other sport.

But what is clear is that neither of the athletes involved are trans, so this doesn't really fit in that narative. It's a situation similar to the various runners with DSDs that we had in athletics over the past decade.

The difference here is that there is direct contact between people and it's harmful

Not a bad statement. Where were all these people yelling and screaming before the Olympics started? If Carini, like quite a few other boxers have done already, had managed to beat her, things would have been....quiet.
