Our commentator is burying the women's javelin and i mean burying :d

"The women's javelin, one of the few disciplines, which has regressed dramatically in the past years. Not only results wise, but name wise. There are no recognizable names. Everyone in athletics knew Barbora Špotáková, Christina Obergföll, Mariya Abakumova, Steffi Nerius. You could name them in your sleep. Now, who are the stars in the javelin? You don't know, as they are all bland. "

Commentator clearly didn't watch javelin recently :p (I mean, Kitaguchi, obviously)

But yeah, in terms of depth and overall qualify, women's javelin is not fantastic to say the least. Definitely my least favourite event to watch in the athletics :p

Commentator has been watching athletics for 35+ years, so he knows his stuff. Plus Kitaguchi isn't at all that spectacular if we have to be honest. Still, if we have a close competition i can live with that. :d

At least Kitaguchi is a clutch performer. Kind of like Tentoglou: in terms of outright meters it's not crazy (good, but not crazy), but she performs when the pressure is on :p

no one is motivated to have a good time in men's 5000m, so they are basically jogging lol

Excellent, so we avoid the nonsense of the later heats having a massive advantage because of knowing the times they need.

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
