She joined the national training centre at age 9. 

 

To me that is incredibly concerning. If you think about the issues that have been uncovered with elite swimming in the UK and then think about how demanding the training set up would be China, and how lax the safeguarding and child protection laws are, it does worry me.

Adam Peaty says it’s 50/50 if he will retire but he will 100% not if the 50 Breast is added to LA.

I thought they already did? Efimova tried to qualify for Paris and Evgenii Somov competed in Paris.

They didn't follow federation threat to cut the findings. Now it doesn't threat

well, they both represent Dynamo which is considered a para-military society so they won't get neutral status. Andrey Minakov and Nika Godun applied and got it

    • Yes, but Geiger and Wellinger have both achieved some success in major events, while Paschke hasn't. Geiger certainly has a better chance in Cortina than Paschke at now, but it has to be the his decision to withdraw and give a chance to his team- mate. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to him. I don't think Horngacher will force him to withdraw.

    • Promoting bad swimmers AND better shooters over better runners (overall less favorable for endurance value) which I think is supposed to help attract new athletes - endurance is usually the biggest turn-off.
