Canadian TV is interviewing an IIAF official.  He was asked if the decision to let USA run again would have been made for anyone else: "Of course!".  I could have sworn his nose grew a few centimeters right after.  

 

Anyway, China has launched an appeal about the decision.  The Canadian guy asked if there is any sympathy for them, and the IIAF guy seemed almost bothered by the question.

This will probably be the first race in Olympic history with only one participant at the start. I say probably because we can't know all the crazy situations that happened in early Olympics
