game #31, :PAK b. :BAN by 7 wickets

:BAN just scored 204/all out in 45.1 overs, so it was a really easy task for :PAK to complete the chase with 205/3 in only 32.3 overs

Tomorrow, game #32 features :NZL vs :RSA at 9.30 a.m. CET in Pune and it's likely to be a great clash and a decisive matchup for the top 4 final lineup

will it be :RSA year?

they already grabbed the Rugby WC and Today they did show that they're for real also in the CWC

meanwhile :NZL look to be struggling a lot right now...and Henry's injury doesn't look good at all for them

game #32, :RSA destroyed :NZL by 190 runs

the red hot :RSA bats set a very high target of 357/4 in 50 overs in the 1st inning, score that :NZL couldn't even think to match and in fact, they only managed to get 167 runs / all out in just 35.3 overs to lose big time this key match

now they have to be very careful of a possible (but unlikely, tbh) comeback by the surprising team from :AFG to save their place among the Top 4

Tomorrow, game #33 sees :IND facing :SRI at 9.30 a.m. CET in Mumbai

on paper, there's no match, but it's always a derby and I'm sure :SRI would try everything they can to steal a prestigious result (even if it doesn't mean anything to their ranking)

:IND really destroyed :SRI

they scored a lot of runs, but, aboive all, their bowlers really humiliated :SRI batsmen

Tomorrow, game #34 features :AFG and :NED at 9.30 a.m. CET in Lucknow

this is a very, very important match for :AFG that desperatly need a win to stay in contention for an improbable but not yet completely out of reach 4th place

game #34, :AFG beat :NED by 7 wickets, keeping their dream alive

:NED scored 179/all out in 46.3 overs, then :AFG smashed that scoring 181/3 in just 31.3 overs

Tomorrow, it's time for the 2nd last doubleheader of the tournament: first, :NZL vs :PAK at 6 a.m. CET in Bengaluru, then a big classic, :AUS vs :ENG at 9.30 a.m. CET in Ahmedabad

we had to wait until match #35, but finally the unfair DLS method hit...and hit very hard

:NZL in fact might even lose their Top 4 spot because some rain ended well in advance their match vs :PAK and gifted the Asians of the most improbable win of the tournament after giving up good 401 runs in their bowling inning :yikes:

game #35, :PAK beat :NZL by 21 runs (DLS method)

as written above, in the 1st inning :NZL went 401/6 in 50 overs, then :PAK offensive inning was stopped twice and finally ended because of rain showers when they were 200/1 after 25.3 overs

therefore, the result was determined with the (in)famous and unfair DLS method and :PAK came home with the win

in the other match of the day, instead, there were no climatic issues and :AUS could, continue their comeback towards the top places in the standings

game #36, :AUS beat :ENG by 33 runs

:AUS started the match with a 286/all out in 49.3 overs, leaving :ENG with a solid chance to chase that score

but the reigning champions once again struggled with their bats and went "only" 253/all out in 48.1 overs without completing their chase (which was not so unlikely until Ben Stokes fell by hand of Adam Zampa -bowler- and Marcus Stoinis, the man who caught Stokes' ball)

Tomorrow, it's time for game #37, with the super clash between the best teams of the tournament so far: :IND vs :RSA at 9.30 a.m. CET in Kolkata

wow! just wow!

:RSA confirmed themselves as an awful chasing team, but Today it would have been a "mission impossible" stuff for every team in the World

game #37, :IND destroyed :RSA by 243 runs :yikes:  :hairpull:

the Host Nation sailed through the 1st inning, increasing their pace over after over and finally setting a target of 326/5 at the end of the 50 overs

:RSA superstar batsman Quinton De Kock fell after just 10 balls at the start of the 2nd inning and from that moment on, it was just a painful punishment for the Africans

they only managed to score a miserable 83/all out in 27.1 inning and went home with one of the biggest losses in this CWC

Tomorrow, game #38 features :BAN vs :SRI at 9.30 a.m. CET in Delhi, not the most anticipated match of the tournament, to say the least

after the shameful controversy, :BAN took advantage of the situation and got a win that leaves :ENG dead last in the standings (for now) :yikes:

game #38, :BAN beat :SRI by 3 wickets

:SRI posted a decent (but not unforgettable) 279/all out in 49.3 overs, then :BAN answered with 282/7 in 41.1 overs and won the match

game details

https://www.cricketworldcup.com/match/102778

Tomorrow, game #39 might be a decisive one with :AUS facing :AFG at 9.30 a.m. CET in Mumbai

:AFG win might put them really in contention with :PAK and :NZL for the 4th place, even if they have another really difficult task in the last game vs :RSA, meanwhile :PAK have to face :ENG and :NZL have to play their last match vs :SRI, teams with no more interests in the standings

What a great day for Virat Kohli as he scored 101 not out on his 35th birthday!
