I am just back from Oran! I am mentally and physically destroyed, there were also delays with the flights first because Oran shut down the airport for some hours when Prince Albert of Monaco had to leave, then because of strikes in France and then because of bad weather in Italy

Anyway it was a nice experience and I have met some amazing people. I was working at Artistic Gymnastics which was one of the worst sports for the timings, we had very long days and I was sleeping very few hours per night.

 

We were also eating very bad food, both in the hotel and at the venue. I was able to try a restaurant only once and I really liked the food, but the catering food was really bad. We often had to skip dinner because the hotel's restaurant closed at 11pm and we rarely came back before that time, and around the gymnastics venue there were literally no places where to eat.

 

Transportation was also a huge problem, they were often late, not by 5 minutes but even by 2 hours. In some of these trips I have risked my life We always had the police escorting us to save some time and all the cars wanted to get in between us and the police to also skip the traffic, some of the trips were really crazy and any single driver honked more in this 10km trip than me in my whole life.

 

It was really nice and surprising to see the Artistic Gymnastics venue always full of people, even if Algeria does not have a tradition in this sport. I thought the stadium would have been almost empty and I was totally wrong. I have also received pictures from other venues which were also very full, including the Equestrian one which was even more surprising for me.

Chikh roho  +78kg  lost the Gold , one of the best African judoka , as i read this is her last competition before retirement
