For 2027:

Predicting: Squash, racquetball, bowling and basque pelota out for sure plus one more

Hopefully Karate but water ski is much more likely.

Roller sports is not leaving for sure and everything else will likely be olympic sport for 2028.

YEa water ski is likely gone too imo. Surprisingly it made the first cut for Santiago 2023, but I guess that's because Chile is one of the better ones in the sport.

No complaints here as Brazil is bad in all of them, but no racquetball and basque pelota surely would be bad news for Mexico.

:COL has a run of top results in squash and bowling, and they generally perform very well in World Games sports, so I can them petitioning to keep those two on the program at least. Plus, Barranquilla should have the facilities for those sports following the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.

I agree with you that water ski and basque pelota are in a precarious position though.

In other news men's softball will not be contested. Wow.

Rowing eights is now a mixed event, with the men's eight and women's lightweight single sculls dropped.

Massive blow to our program, their support depends on performance at PAG.

Other qualification news:

Road+Track quotas go from 160 in 2019 to 187 in 2023, increase partly due to Cali 2021. Unfortunatley the increase has been offset by the Caribbean championships losing 8 quotas (from 10 to 2, one per gender).

Basketball: Top 7 at each FIBA Americup qualify. 3x3: The fields have been doubles to 12 per tournament. Top 4 at FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup in November, + top 6 in WR as of June 30, 2023 will qualify along with Cali winners and Hosts.

Diving: Quota increased to 80 (from 70). The other three disciplines (minus) swimming have the same qualification system as in 2019 with same # of quotas

Equestrian: Dressage drops from 48 to 44, Eventing drops from 48 to 46, and Jumping goes to 60 from 54. Overall net quota remains the same from 2019

Karate: team kata dropped; individual kata to remain the same. Top 2 from CAC, SA games and Pan AM Championships will qualify, along with champion of NA. Hosts and Cali winners (only in Kumite) also qualify.

MP: Same as in 2019. 2022 Pan ams to determine all quotas.

    • GOLD FOR MOL/SØRUM!!!!    WOO HOO!!!      Phenomenal match this was, the Qataris played really well too (their ball control really let them down at the end though)   Probably one of the best finals I’ve ever watched (Hamburg Elite 16 in 2022 between Bryl/Łosiak and Meeuwsen/Brouwer was another)   What a grind it was from them to come back from down 10-13 down in set 3, also having to save 2 MP’s.
    • I will send my votes after my university exams.
    • I'm going to withdraw as a voting jury member. I definitely want to follow the contest, but I just need a short break from voting in the TISC. Thanks.
