heywoodu 13,663 Posted March 18, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2020 What's with UAE or Serbia participating in the Francophone Games? If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Countries are considered to be Francophone if, during the 19th Century, the aristocracy sent their children to French speaking schools. They compete at the Lusophone Games (which haven’t been held for a few years). “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. See also Poland, Russia, Brazil, Egypt etc. Egypt was colonized by France in the 19th century for 3 years btw and btw Egyptians still use some french words in their normal life without knowing that these are french language and ofc France played a vital rule in making world know the egyptian civilization by interpreting Rosetta Stone , so i'd say that it's not really strange for egypt to participate here and ofc there're still french schools still existent in Egypt my mom learned in one of them and French is considered a main foreign language here in egypt it comes just after English Edited March 18, 2020 by thepharoah De_Gambassi and Olympian1010
